Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Friday, February 16, 2024

Published on February 16, 2024

Southern Tug Hill Sno Riders Snowstorm February 2024

Finally… After weeks without much adequate snowfall, much of the Central New York region received a fresh batch of accumulation.

In Boonville, NY, official accumulations early Friday exceeded just north of 12-inches.

If you haven’t been keeping track of our reports, riding conditions have been dismal so far this season. Several snowmobile clubs have been unable to groom and several trail systems have been closed.

However, amidst this new snowfall, grooming crews are expected to give it their best with what they have to work with.

If you’re up to ride for the weekend, be sure to mind any potential debris from the winter storm Thursday night.

In addition, keep in mind that there hasn’t been any base, so riding conditions may be rough and/or bumpy.

Here are the latest reports we’ve gathered:

NOTE: Conditions are likely and do tend to change on a moment’s notice. Be sure to keep checking our website for any updates.

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Groomers have been out. Copenhagen trails and Tom Sawyer Trail are CLOSED.

Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Open from Brantingham to Western Adirondacks. No trail access to Tug Hill. Crews are opening C8B / back way from Brantingham to Lyons Falls. BUT... it involves lots of bare pavement riding.

Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails are open, however; conditions range from poor to fair.

Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: All trails are open. There's no base; ride with caution.

Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Stay tuned for updates.

Osceola Snowmobile Association: Groomers are expected to be out and conditions vary from marginal to good.

Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails are open; no base and ride at your own risk.

Old Forge/Town of Webb: Trails have re-opened amidst fresh snowfall, but there is no base.

Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails are open; use caution and watch for hazards.

Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: All trails are open. Groomers are expected to run through the weekend.

Trackside Blazers: Trails are open. Expect mixed conditions.

Turin Ridge Riders: Best conditions are expected in Highmarket and points north. Grooming is expected to resume.

Valley Snow Travelers: Stay tuned for more updates.

NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
