Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Friday, January 16, 2026

Published on January 16, 2026

Turin Ridge Riders Trails Night January 2026

Cold, cold and… more cold.

It looks like our January thaw is over and Mother Nature is circling back with another arctic blast of air (though, it is the middle of winter). Despite the promising flip in the weather pattern, the trails have been inconsistent for the most part. Generally speaking, the North Country region could really use another good dumping of fresh snowfall. We will keep an eye on the forecast. In the meantime, there is still riding to be had. Here are some of the latest trail reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:

NOTE: Conditions are likely and do tend to change on a moment’s notice. Be sure to keep checking our website for any updates (you can also check in with your favorite snowmobile clubs for more in-depth details).

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Conditions are slowly improving; beware of thin and icy spots.

Brantingham Snowmobile Club: All trails are open; use caution on Kovach and Mountain Tom Trails.

Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trail have re-opened; caution is advised.

Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Groomers have been out; trails are fair and icy.

Osceola Snowmobile Association: Groomers went out Thursday night; watch for icy corners.

Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails are open and groomers will be out inspecting.

Old Forge/Town of Webb: Trails have been fair to good.

Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Groomers will be out doing what they can.

Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Groomers have been out and trails are good.

Trackside Blazers: Groomers hit the trails Thursday night; watch for hazards.

Turin Ridge Riders: Fair to good reports on Tug Hill trails; some lower trails are thin and some lower trails are CLOSED.

Valley Snow Travelers: Lower trails have opened (use caution); Tug Hill trails were groomed Thursday.

NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
