As many snowmobilers took advantage of the fantastic early season riding conditions before Christmas, one would be shocked to see how quickly the trails have deteriorated since.
Several local snowmobile clubs have pulled the plug on their trail systems until the snow machine fires back up.
The bottom line is: we don't have much snow and the riding conditions are very slim.
We wish we had better reports and when things improve, we will be among the first to let you know.
In the meantime, here are the latest updates we have gathered:
Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Grooming suspended until further notice; poor conditions reported.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Grooming is suspended until further notice.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Riding is not recommended until further notice.
Ohio Ridge Riders: No recent updates. Their message: Do the snow dance!
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Riding is discouraged until further notice. Extremely marginal conditions.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails are CLOSED.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Trails are CLOSED; riding on seasonal roads not recommended.
Trackside Blazers: Trails are CLOSED.
Turin Ridge Riders: Lower trails are CLOSED. Grooming is suspended until further notice.
Valley Snow Travelers: No grooming until further notice.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
