Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Thursday, February 15, 2024
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the Tug Hill Plateau Region, Central New York and the Western Adirondacks through Friday morning.
Given the fact that a lack of any snow base is prevalent all around the state, a batch of fresh snow is certainly welcoming to the snowmobiling industry amidst such an incredibly slow riding season.
Furthermore, it seems as if though the forecast is hinting at snow through this weekend. We will keep everyone up to date on how much snow ends up accumulating.
Keep in mind, local clubs will need time to assess and decide where to groom once this storm system passes.
Over the last several weeks, conditions have been very poor overall, but this serves as a scenario where trail conditions could all of a sudden perk up.

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Be prepared to encounter various conditions.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails remain CLOSED.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: No active grooming or riding to report.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails remain CLOSED.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Trails remain CLOSED.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Riding is not recommended. Ice base reported in higher elevation trails.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails remain CLOSED.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Trails are temporarily CLOSED for safety.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails remain CLOSED.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: ALL trails remain CLOSED and riding is not advised.
Trackside Blazers: Trails remain CLOSED.
Turin Ridge Riders: Seasonal trails have stretches of bare ground, ice and some snow. Lower trails remain CLOSED.
Valley Snow Travelers: An ice base remains. Grooming is pending the approaching storm.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
