Turin Ridge Riders Night Groomer 2 January 2024

A monstrous lake effect snow band continued its assault on the North Country Thursday morning, particularly between Lowville and Watertown, NY.

It appears that several clubs are still reporting some hazards (tree limbs and etc.) in the wake of last-week’s wind storm.

Furthermore, it appears there have been numerous reports of slush and water holes up around Tabolts Corners, however; local crews throughout the region have been out inspecting and clearing the trails.

Here are the latest reports:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Montague trails were groomed this week.

Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Most trails are open; watch for waterholes.

Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails from New Bremen to Harrisville are being groomed, with good coverage.

Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Most trails are open (West Leyden Trail CLOSED) and in good shape; new addition to Port Leyden Trail that leads to Brantingham.

Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Grooming crews will be out; Carthage to Belfort is CLOSED.

Osceola Snowmobile Association: Conditions vary from poor to excellent.

Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails have re-opened; Hinckley to Dagenkolb Road is groomed.

Old Forge/Town of Webb: Fair to good conditions reported, with up to 6-inches of packed base.

Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Groomers went out to Hinckley and Steuben; conditions vary.

Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Highmarket and Swancott Mills are groomed; conditions vary from fair to excellent.

Trackside Blazers: Three groomers were out Wednesday night; beware of water spots.

Turin Ridge Riders: Most of the trail system was groomed Wednesday night.

Valley Snow Travelers: Trails from Montague to Tabolts Corners were groomed Wednesday night.

NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
