Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Thursday, January 22, 2026

Published on January 22, 2026

Barnes Corners Sno Pals Groomer Trails January 2026

The second-half of January (so far) is about as old-fashioned of a winter as one can get, at-least when it comes to the cold.

The snow guns have fired up this week across the Tug Hill Plateau (the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Tug Hill region through this Friday).

Some very impressive snow measurements have been accounted for west and north of Lowville, NY.

Fortunately, some additional snowfall has also started to accumulate for certain trail systems needing an extra boost.

Here are some of the latest trail reports we’ve gathered from around the local area (check out the latest NYSSA map here):

NOTE: Conditions are likely and do tend to change on a moment’s notice. Be sure to keep checking our website for any updates (you can also check in with your favorite snowmobile clubs for more in-depth details).

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Tons of fresh snow; groomers will be working the trails.

Brantingham Snowmobile Club: No updates since January 17, but trails remain open.

Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails are open, with very good conditions reported.

NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
