Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Thursday, March 23, 2023
It’s officially the season of spring and although we still have snow on the ground, it’s anyone’s guess as to how long it will last.
Since the beginning of the week, snow coverage has been taking a nosedive. Furthermore, it seems as if most of the trails have followed suit.
More and more trail systems are closing up, or are strictly limited to the seasonal roads on Tug Hill.
We have received word there are still some fair to good conditions towards Old Forge, for now.
Here are the latest updates we’ve gathered:
NOTE: Conditions are likely and do tend to change on a moment’s notice. Be sure to keep checking our website for any updates.
Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Trails are deteriorating; lower trails have little snow; fair to good conditions near Montague.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails from Brantingham the Adirondacks remain open; NO TRAIL ACCESS TO TUG HILL.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Trails are deteriorating.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: No updates since March 19; expect spring conditions.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails are CLOSED.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Good conditions overall; 4-inches of base; inner trails remain good; watch for waterholes.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails are CLOSED.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Groomers report ridable conditions near Highmarket
Trackside Blazers: Trails are CLOSED.
Turin Ridge Riders: All lower trails are CLOSED; best riding is expected on the seasonal roads.
Valley Snow Travelers: No updates since March 19; expect spring like and deteriorating conditions.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
