Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Tuesday, January 14, 2025
Snowmobiling 2025 marches on across upstate New York and the North Country.
Another lake effect snow band formed Monday night and is excepted to drop more snow accumulation across portions of the Tug Hill Plateau, Northern Oneida County and the Western Adirondacks.
Some localized totals are forecasted to exceed three-feet in select Tug Hill areas, the National Weather Service says.
Temperatures have remained seasonal and the sled traffic certainly was very heavy over the weekend.
Here are some of the latest conditions we’ve gathered:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Trails are open; fresh snowfall reported, but some trails are on the thinner side.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Fresh snowfall was reported Tuesday and grooming fleets are expected to be out.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails from Belfort and north are in good shape; caution recommended on lower trails.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Grooming fleets have been out, trails are open and conditions have remained steady.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: As of January 9, the trail from Copenhagen to Maples was open, but thin.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Grooming fleets are expected to roll all week.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Grooming fleets were out over the weekend amidst heavy sled traffic.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Good conditions remain prevalent since the weekend.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Despite a few remaining waterholes, grooming fleets have remained active and the trails are open.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Trails are open and conditions range from good to excellent.
Trackside Blazers: Grooming fleets have been working with what is available.
Turin Ridge Riders: Seasonal roads have been busy; lower trails have had thinner coverage (NO CONNECTION TO TRAILS EAST TOWARDS BRANTINGHAM/OLD FORGE).
Valley Snow Travelers: Grooming fleets have been out on the Tug Hill Trails.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
