Published on January 16, 2024

Ohio Ridge Riders Trail January 2024

More snow is forecasted to accumulate across portions of Oneida County and the Tug Hill Plateau, with Lake Effect Snow Warnings in effect via the National Weather Service through as late as Thursday night.

Several area clubs have managed to get out and groom the trails, but conditions seem to vary (depending on where your ride). A few trail systems remain closed as of this report, too.

Here are the latest updates we’ve gathered:

NOTE: Conditions are likely and do tend to change on a moment’s notice. Be sure to keep checking our website for any updates.

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Beware of debris and waterholes; stay on the main trails.

Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Most trails are open; watch for waterholes.

Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails are open; caution is advised as groomers work to establish a base.

Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Most trails open; new addition to Port Leyden Trail that leads to Brantingham.

Osceola Snowmobile Association: Conditions vary from poor to excellent.

Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails remain CLOSED.

Old Forge/Town of Webb: Fair to good conditions reported, with up to 5-inches of packed base.

Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails remain closed, due to a lack of snow.

Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Best conditions are near Highmarket; other trails have minimal coverage.

Trackside Blazers: Trails have re-opened; groomers have been out and railroad tracks remain closed.

Turin Ridge Riders: All trails are open; coverage is thin off Tug Hill.

Valley Snow Travelers: Lower trails are open; lots of slush/waterholes from Montague to Tabolts Corners.

NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
