Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Wednesday, February 26, 2025
Snowmobiling 2025 marches on across upstate New York and the North Country.
The general North Country region is experiencing its first legitimate thaw since early January (mind you, a colder weekend is forecasted, according to the NWS). Could this be the beginning of the end? The past two months have simply been second to none – the best riding in decades.
Overall, the snowpack still remains very healthy from Central New York to the North Country and Western Adirondacks, but there have been whispers of Robbins starting to show up not too far away, and that typically means that spring is drawing near.
Expect some trail systems to show some sort of decline in their conditions (but keep in mind, there is still plenty of riding to be had).
Here are some of the latest reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Grooming is suspended until further notice. Watch for icy corners.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails were groomed over the weekend.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Be mindful for changing conditions.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are softening up, but the snowpack remains good.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: No grooming on Tuesday amidst rainfall.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: No updates since February 23.
Ohio Ridge Riders: No updates since February 22.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Marginal to fair conditions remain.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: No updates since February 22.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Grooming expected to resume Wednesday thru the weekend.
Trackside Blazers: Grooming will resume once temperatures drop.
Turin Ridge Riders: Grooming is expected when colder temps arrive.
Valley Snow Travelers: Groomers have been out.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
