Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Wednesday, January 15, 2025
Snowmobiling 2025 marches on across upstate New York and the North Country.
Some portions of the Central and Northern New York regions received some lake effect snowfall on Tuesday, helping local clubs keep up with maintaining the trails.
Weather patterns are expected to remain seasonal as we charge through the rest of January, including a brutal cold snap, which is forecasted to send temperatures below zero next week.
Here are some of the latest conditions we’ve gathered:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Trails are open and groomers went out Tuesday night amidst fresh snowfall.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: All trails are open, groomed and in good shape as of January 15.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails from Belfort and north are in good shape; caution recommended on lower trails.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Grooming fleets have been out, trails are open and conditions have remained steady.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: No recent reports.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Grooming fleets are expected to roll all week.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails to Norway, Poland, Cold Brook and Ohio were groomed on Tuesday.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Good conditions remain on about 10-inches of packed base.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Grooming fleets have been out.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Trails are open and grooming fleets will be out.
Trackside Blazers: No grooming Tuesday night; RR section of C7 is CLOSED.
Turin Ridge Riders: All trails are now open.
Valley Snow Travelers: Grooming fleets have been out on the Tug Hill Trails; Lowville trails will be groomed where snow allows.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
