Nearly two-months late, New York’s FY 2027 State Budget finally passes both legislative chambers

ALBANY, NY- With only a few days away from being exactly two-months late, New York State has finally passed its Fiscal Year 2027 Budget.

It passed through both legislative chambers just before the clock struck midnight on Wednesday.

This budget turns out to be the latest in over a decade and rings in at a whopping $268 billion. The legislative session is aimed to wrap up on June 4.

Details are still emerging, but sources from the State Capitol have confirmed that changes to New York’s Climate Law, car insurance reforms and pensions for over 830,000 government employees are all major highlights included within the budget bills.

State lawmakers who represent the North Country and Mohawk Valley areas have been very outspoken in condemning the tardiness for this year’s budget.
