LEWIS COUNTY- There’s a new pavilion in Copenhagen that commemorates a local business man.

This new structure compliments Ted Simmons Riverside Memorial Park and according to the latest from WWNY-TV, the Simmons family, along with Copenhagen CARES Collaborative, officially held a dedication ceremony Sunday.

There were dozens who attended. Ted’s son, Scott, told reporters that he hopes the new pavilion will serve as a place for people to gather.

The new pavilion is centered around what the family calls a “tree of life” and represents not just Ted, but the entire community.

Those who would like to add a memorial carving into the tree are urged to reach out to Copenhagen CARES Collaborative.
