A new poll organized through Elise Stefanik’s Political Action Committee puts the Congresswoman only 5-points behind Democratic Incumbent Governor, Kathy Hochul, in a theoretical race.

This development is according to the latest from WWNY-TV.

There have been several rumors floating around for months suggesting that Stefanik will challenge Hochul in the 2026 election.

Reports suggest that Stefanik (R-NY-21) will make an announcement after this November’s election regarding a potential run for Governor.

On the other hand, other polls that have been executed over the last few weeks tell a different tale, including a Sienna Poll from September that put Hochul 25-points ahead of Stefanik.

To clarify, any poll, until Stefanik reveals her announcement officially, is just done theoretically to gage the current voting temperature.
