WASHINGTON, D.C. – A new development has come to light concerning North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21) and the rumors surrounding her potential run against Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul in 2026.
There have been several reports circulating over the last few months, where it seems Stefanik has been hinting the idea of a Gubernatorial run.
She has even been quoted: “It’s not if, but when.” However, one of the latest news releases from her office now suggests that she will make a final decision and reveal an announcement following this November election for 2025.
Speculation around Stefanik’s possible bid for Governor started going around upon her return to Congress over the winter.
For context, she was chosen by Donald Trump to serve on his cabinet after the election last November, but her nomination was pulled at the last second.
