WEBB- There were no injuries reported after a snowmobile sled burst into flames in the Western Adirondacks.

This update stems from a social media post on Monday morning via the Town of Webb Police Department.

Patrols encountered a snowmobile sled that had just caught on fire. Although the machine ended up being a total loss, there were no injuries.

Members from Old Forge Fire Department extinguished the blaze.

A cause was not specified by Town of Webb Police as of this publication.

Authorities said the incident occurred while Chief Mulcahy was on his inaugural snowmobile patrol since he was sworn in as the new Police Chief earlier in the month.
