North Country man accused of sex offense and obscenity charges in Lewis County

CROGHAN- A North Country man is accused of sex offense and obscenity charges in Lewis County, authorities say.

Nathan D. Hotchkiss, 34, of Castorland, NY was arrested Monday evening by the New York State Police (Lowville). He is formally charged with one felony count each of criminal sex act in the first-degree and using a child under 17 in a sexual performance, along with one misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to Troopers, these charges stem from complaints in the town of Croghan.

At press time, police said an investigation was pending. Hotchkiss’ arrest status was listed as cash bail (w/no amount).

There were no additional details available via the State Police.
