CARTHAGE- A child endangerment case in Jefferson County has resulted in charges against a North Country area resident.

Walter F. Panther, 35, of Carthage, NY was arrested on Thursday by the New York State Police for one misdemeanor count each of acting in a manner injurious to a child (under the age of 17) and forcible touching (sexual and/or intimate parts of another person).

Troopers said this arrest stems from a child endangerment complaint filed last month in the village of Carthage, NY.

At press time, authorities said that Panther’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment.

There were no further details provided.
