North Country resident charged with felony possessing, promoting sexual performance by child

CHAMPION- A North Country area resident is faced with felony obscenity and/or pornography charges in Jefferson County.

On Thursday morning, the New York State Police arrested and charged Christopher L. Patterson, 45, of Carthage, NY with one felony count each of possessing and promoting a sexual performance by a child.

According to Troopers, these charges stem from an investigation that began back in July in the town of Champion.

At press time, police said that Patterson’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment.

There were no further details provided.
