
ORISKANY- The deadline to file for the next correction officer civil service exam in Oneida County has been extended through Friday, November 4.
The cost is $25 to apply and the application must be filed no later than 4:30 p.m. of the extended date.
According to Sheriff Rob Maciol, candidates must be a legal resident of Oneida, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Oswego, or Otsego Counties for a least (1) month immediately preceding the date of appointment.
Candidates must also possess either a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma, a valid NYS driver's license, be at least 18 years old at the time of appointment, and pass a thorough background process.
The eligible list, established as a result of this examination, will be used to fill vacancies within the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Corrections Division.
