JEFFERSON & LEWIS COUNTIES (TUG HILL)- WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 P.M. EST WEDNESDAY.

* WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 6 to 9 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Greatest snowfall expected across the Tug Hill Plateau, with 3 to 5 inches expected across the Watertown Metro area.

* WHERE...Jefferson and Lewis Counties.

* WHEN...Until 1 P.M. EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday morning commute. The Wednesday morning commute across the Watertown Metro area will also be impacted.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities. Submit snow reports through our website or social media.

 

CENTRAL NEW YORK & ONEIDA COUNTY- WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 P.M. EST TUESDAY.

* WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 7 inches.

* WHERE...Madison, Northern Oneida, Onondaga, and Southern Oneida Counties.

* WHEN...Until 6 P.M. EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Several rounds of lake effect snow showers, wind and any heavier snow showers may reduce visibilities as well. Accumulations during the day will mainly be on grassy areas but slick spots could form at night and during any heavier snow showers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions.
