JEFFERSON, LEWIS & OSWEGO COUNTIES: WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 P.M. SATURDAY EVENING TO 2 P.M. EST MONDAY.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 16 inches. Greatest amounts on the Tug Hill. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph with blowing and drifting snow later Sunday and Sunday night.

* WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region.

* WHEN...From 7 P.M. Saturday evening to 2 P.M. EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Widespread accumulating snow will create dangerous travel conditions. Submit snow reports through our website or social media.

 

NORTHERN ONEIDA COUNTY: WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 P.M. SATURDAY TO 2 P.M. EST MONDAY.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 9 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Northern Oneida county.

* WHEN...From 7 P.M. Saturday to 2 P.M. EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches with a few power outages.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain will begin to mix with wet snow this evening at highest elevations, then snow will occur Sunday. However, the main travel impacts will be Sunday afternoon through Monday morning with snow, blowing snow, and gusty winds.

OLD FORGE/WESTERN ADIRONDACKS: WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 P.M. EST SATURDAY TO 8 P.M. EDT MONDAY.

* WHAT...Heavy wet snow and some ice. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches with locally higher amounts possible across the highest peaks. Ice accumulations of a light glaze. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Northern Herkimer, Hamilton, Northern Warren and Northern Fulton Counties.

* WHEN...From 7 P.M. EST Saturday to 8 P.M. EDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Power outages likely. Travel could be very difficult to impossible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A rain and snow mix will change to heavy wet snow this evening and continue overnight. The snow may mix with freezing rain later tonight. Snowfall rates may exceed one inch per hour. A break in the precipitation is possible Sunday, before additional snow showers and bursts of heavier snow redevelop late Sunday and continue into Monday. Some blowing and drifting snow is possible Sunday night into Monday.
