TUG HILL REGION- WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING.

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 7 inches or more possible, especially across higher terrain.

* WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region. The greatest accumulations will focus across the higher terrain of the Tug Hill Plateau and western foothills of the Adirondacks.

* WHEN...From late TUESDAY night through THURSDAY morning.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult with snow covered roads and poor visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Begin needed preparations at home or with your vehicle. Travel may become difficult, so plan accordingly.


NORTHERN ONEIDA COUNTY- WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING.

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 7 or more inches possible.

* WHERE...Northern Oneida County.

* WHEN...From late TUESDAY night through THURSDAY morning.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...In this wintry pattern, there may be minor snow amounts before and after the Watch timeframe, but heaviest snow potential is Wednesday.

OLD FORGE & WESTERN ADIRONDACKS- WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING.

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 7 and 11 inches possible.

* WHERE...Hamilton, Northern Fulton, and Herkimer Counties.

* WHEN...From late TUESDAY night through THURSDAY morning.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates up to 1 inch per hour are possible in the southern Adirondacks on Wednesday which will likely lead to reduced visibility. The highest accumulation on Wednesday will likely remain north of the New York Thruway in Herkimer County.
