NWS: Winter Storm Watch for Old Forge and Western Adirondacks through early Monday

OLD FORGE/WESTERN ADIRONDACKS: WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING.

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 7 or more inches possible in the most persistent snow bands.

* WHERE...Northern Herkimer County.

* WHEN...From late tonight through Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow from our coastal storm is ending with little or no additional accumulation early this morning. For the lake effect event, the heaviest snow amounts are expected to occur north of Route 28. Snow rates in excess of 1 inch per hour will be possible. This band is expected to drop southward for a time Sunday afternoon and evening.
