JEFFERSON, LEWIS & OSWEGO COUNTIES: WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow with significant accumulations possible. Winds could gust as high as 40-mph, producing blowing and drifting snow.
* WHERE...Wayne, Northern Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis
Counties.
* WHEN...From Wednesday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the commutes from Wednesday evening through the end of the week.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is still some uncertainty with the details of lake effect band placement and snowfall amounts, especially for the latter portion of this event which is still a few days away.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Narrow bands of heavy snow could bring rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities. Localized travel problems will be possible.
ONEIDA COUNTY: WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations of greater than 7-inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph, producing blowing and drifting snow.
* WHERE...Madison, Onondaga, Southern Cayuga, and Oneida Counties.
* WHEN...From Wednesday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible at times within the heaviest lake effect snow bands.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This will be a long duration event with fluctuating lake effect snow bands. Though heavy snowfall is anticipated, there is still uncertainty in specific snowfall totals and locations.

OLD FORGE & WESTERN ADIRONDACKS: WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 7 or more inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
* WHERE...Hamilton, Northern Herkimer, and Southern Herkimer Counties.
* WHEN...From Wednesday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Roads will likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow Wednesday afternoon will transition to a multi-day lake-effect snow event Wednesday night continuing into this weekend. The band will likely oscillate between the Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks during this time bringing periods of heavy snow and gusty winds resulting in blowing and drifting snow.
