JEFFERSON, LEWIS & OSWEGO COUNTIES: WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 3 P.M. TUESDAY AFTERNOON TO 1 P.M. EST WEDNESDAY.

* WHAT...Snow and mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch.

* WHERE...Oswego and Lewis counties. Greatest ice accumulations across the Tug Hill.

* WHEN...From 3 P.M. Tuesday afternoon to 1 P.M. EST Wednesday. Snow will develop this afternoon and continue tonight, then transition to a period of mixed precipitation including freezing rain Wednesday morning before changing to rain Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute today and the morning commute Wednesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will result in slippery roads and limited visibilities. Slow down and use caution while driving. Submit snow and ice reports through our website or social media.

 

ONEIDA COUNTY: WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 P.M. TUESDAY AFTERNOON TO 10 A.M. EST WEDNESDAY.

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze.

* WHERE...Northern Oneida, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Onondaga, Madison and Southern Oneida counties.

* WHEN...From 1 P.M. Tuesday afternoon to 10 A.M. EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute tonight and the morning commute Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... Light snow will develop this afternoon and change to a period of freezing rain tonight. Temperatures should rise above freezing Wednesday morning.

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch.

* WHERE...The Southern Adirondacks in eastern New York and southern Vermont.

* WHEN...From 4 P.M. Tuesday afternoon to 1 A.M. EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light snow will begin later this afternoon and will continue through tonight before transitioning to a wintry mix, including freezing rain, on Wednesday. Precipitation will eventually change over to plain rain by Wednesday night as temperatures rise above freezing.
