NY-22 Rep. Williams to face-off against State Senator Mannion in November, 2024 election

Published on June 27, 2024

Vote 3

Republican Congressman for NY-22, Brandon Williams, has a Democratic challenger cemented for the upcoming November election.

Although there were very few primary elections locally on Tuesday, State Senator, John Mannion, defeated DeWitt Town Councilor, Sarah Klee Hood, in the Democratic primary and will appear on the fall ballot for the NY-22 race.

Senator Mannion has been in office since late 2020, but Congressman Williams is claiming on the social media platform ‘X,’ formally known as Twitter, that Mannion is an “Albany insider,” going on to accuse him of siding with “far-left radicals.”

“In November, NY-22 will reject career politician Mannion,” Williams posted to social media.

Mannion says the district needs someone in Congress “who will wake up every morning thinking about how to deliver for Central New York and the Mohawk Valley,” according to a statement from his campaign website.
