BOONVILLE- It's been a rocky road at times for the Boonville Snow Festival II, especially considering that committee members have spent countless hours over the last several years stressing over whether to postpone or cancel snowmobile sled racing, due to dramatic swings in the weather pattern that severely impact track conditions and safety.
However, for once, 2025 is a year where the Boonville Snow Festival II committee has no other choice but to have fast action sled racing at the Boonville Oneida County Fairgrounds the weekend of January 24, 25 and 26.
"2025... Mother Nature is on our side!" said Committee Spokesperson, Susan Alger.
"Once we got that last big snowstorm, we really stepped into high gear because of long range forecasts that were in our favor with the snow that is required for the event and the cold weather."
Be sure to listen to our latest on-air segment with Susan Alger for more details:
With the event aimed to kick-off with the traditional torch light parade Friday night, January 24, Cleve Lansing will lead the parade as Grand Marshal.
Cleve has an extensive history with snowmobile racing and has been a key contributor to the snow festival for several years.
The Torch Light Parade, organized thanks to the Lost Trail Snowmobile Club, will line-up at the Town Barn sometime around 6:30 p.m. before venturing up to the fairgrounds at 7:00 p.m.
Hot laps commence at 10:30 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday, with racing following shortly after for both the vintage and pro circuits.
The vintage sled show is from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
