WATERTOWN- 2026 marks the 27th year of the traditional North Country Chili Cook Off, which has grown into a major fundraiser for the Volunteer Transportation Center.

First and foremost, due to a scheduling conflict, Jeremiah S. Papineau, Director of Communications and Foundation Director for the Volunteer Transportation Center, says the in-person cook off at the Dulles State Office Building has been moved to Saturday, March 14.

“After much deliberation, we opted to push forward the date of our in-person event, feeling it will be a change that will be optimal one for everyone,” said Mr. Papineau.

“People have come to know the Dulles State Office Building as the home of our event. We wanted to make a move that would not only be the least disruptive for that tradition but also give us the opportunity for other perks, like the potential for better weather.”

Meanwhile, the chili restaurant crawl portion of the cook off has kicked off through February 25 (be sure to check out this year's map of participating establishments).

All proceeds from the chili cook off to towards the Volunteer Transportation Center.
