One person deceased after vehicle strikes tree in Herkimer County: STATE POLICE

RUSSIA- Local authorities are investigating a fatal accident in Herkimer County, where a vehicle struck a tree.

It happened shortly before 5:00 a.m. Thursday on Southside Road, town of Russia.

As of this report, investigation via the New York State Police suggests that Jeremy J. Antonuk, 41, of Cold Brook, NY was heading east in a 2008 Nissan Frontier.

It’s reported that Antonuk lost control, drove off from the northern shoulder and smashed into a tree.

Antonuk was pronounced deceased on-scene.

Members from Poland Fire Department and STaR Ambulance assisted.

The investigation remains ongoing.
