
ONEIDA COUNTY- Police say a local man is faced with a felony accusation as authorities investigated a piece of equipment that was sold without the owner’s permission.
The case was opened on May 26 when the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office looked into a complaint about a stolen NorTrac Bulldozer from Westmoreland, NY.
Deputies learned the machine was being fixed in the town of Floyd. Investigators soon discovered the bulldozer was sold without the owner’s permission.
After following up on various leads, the Sheriff’s Office arrested Grover H. Damuth, 64, of Floyd, NY on Tuesday. He is formally charged with felony grand larceny in the third-degree.
Damuth was processed and held, pending an arraignment in CAP Court, according to what police said at press time.
