
WEST TURIN- A local resident is accused of forging nearly a dozen checks in Southern Lewis County.
Kayla M. Larkins, 31, (address listed as Oneida County) was arrested on Wednesday by the Sheriff’s Office. Larkins is formally charged with one felony count of grand larceny in the fourth-degree and 11 felony counts of possessing a forged instrument in the second-degree.
Authorities say the arrest stems from a joint investigation between the Sheriff’s Office and Lewis County Adult Protective Services.
It is alleged that Larkins possessed and forged a total of 11 checks and cashed them at the Lyons Falls Community Bank.
Larkins was arraigned in Lowville Town CAP Court and released on her own recognizance.
