LOWVILLE- Police say an arrest has been made after emergency responders investigated a fire alarm that was pulled last week in the village.

Kyle P. Roberts, 27 (no address provided), was arrested Monday by the Lowville Village Police Department for one felony count of falsely reporting an incident, according to Chief of Police Daryl Ortlieb.

The arrest stems from an alarm that was pulled at Valley View Housing on the night of January 3.

Thus far, investigation has determined that Roberts attempted to enter the facility at around 9:20 p.m., but failed because the doors were locked.

Police say he subsequently pulled the fire alarm, causing nearly 80 residents to abruptly exit the structure.

Roberts managed to flee the scene before police arrival, but was located and arrested Monday.

He was arraigned in Lewis County Court and released on his own recognizance.
