Personal injury property damage wreck in Lewis County results in impaired driving charge against North Country resident, Troopers say

DENMARK- A North Country resident is accused of driving while impaired, following reports of a personal injury and property damage crash this week in Lewis County, authorities say.

Donald W. Eldridge, 50, of Carthage, NY was arrested Tuesday afternoon by the New York State Police (Carthage). Eldridge was officially charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs (first offense).

According to Troopers, the arrest stems from a personal injury and property damage crash Monday morning in the town of Denmark.

State Police said there was one confirmed person with injury, but further details were not specified in the initial reports.

At press time, police said an investigation was pending. Meanwhile, Eldridge was issued with an appearance ticket.
