
ROME- Two men were arrested during a traffic stop Thursday afternoon once police realized the truck they had pulled-over was stolen.
Deputies from the Oneida County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop shortly after 2:00 p.m. near the intersection of Tannery and Oswego Road after witnessing a white colored Ford F-350 in violation of multiple NYS Vehicle & Traffic Laws.
As Road Patrol Deputies approached the vehicle, they made contact with three occupants. Further investigation lead Deputies to discovering the vehicle and affixed license plates were reported stolen to NYSP North Syracuse.
It was also discovered that one of the occupants of the vehicle currently possessed an active Bench Warrant with the Oswego County Sheriff's Office.
As a result, James Clark (33), was arrested and turned over to the Oswego County Sheriff's Office without further incident.
The investigation was turned over to members of the Criminal Investigation Unit and as a result, Kenneth Sweeting, 47, was arrested and charged with felony Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree.

At press time, police said that Sweeting was processed at the Kurt B. Wynman Law Enforcement Building.
Sweeting was issued an Appearance Ticket, multiple Vehicle & Traffic Law citations, released and is to appear in Rome City Court at a later date.
