Port Leyden resident charged with harassment, criminal obstruction of breathing after allegedly throwing victim to the ground in Boonville

BOONVILLE- A resident from Southern Lewis County is accused of throwing someone down onto the ground during an incident over the weekend in the village.

It was shortly after 4:00 p.m. Sunday when the Boonville Police responded to a harassment complaint at 162 Main Street.

Investigation resulted in the arrest of Pamela L. Smith, 41, of Port Leyden, NY. Smith was formally charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, along with another count of harassment in the second-degree.

After interviewing the 59-year-old victim, who was outside shoveling snow, police discovered that Smith arrived to the address and threw them to the ground before leaving.

While on the ground, Smith is accused of obstructing the victim’s breathing.

At press time, police said that Smith is due to appear in Boonville Town Court at a later date.
