Press Release: Lowville Academy Graduate Kelly Birchenough, DO, Returns To Hometown To Provide OB/GYN Care

LOWVILLE, NY– Lewis County General Hospital (LCGH) is pleased to announce Obstetrician and Gynecologist Kelly Birchenough, DO, will join the Women's Health Center medical staff on July 22, 2019.


She brings over 10 years of OB/GYN experience and is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Birchenough is a 2003 graduate of Lowville Academy Central School and received her B.S. in Neuroscience with a minor in Chemistry and Music from St. Lawrence University, Canton, NY. She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie, PA, and completed clinical rotations in Lowville, NY, and Erie, Clarion, Grove City, Pittsburgh and Meadville, PA.
Her OB/GYN residency training was at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY.

"I am happy to be home again," stated Dr. Birchenough. "I look forward to raising my family and caring for
the women of Lewis County and neighboring communities."

Dr. Birchenough will provide a complete spectrum of obstetrical and gynecological care. She was trained on robotics and performs the latest laparoscopic surgical procedures. Prior to returning to her hometown, Kelly worked at Meadville OB/GYN Associates, Meadville, PA.

Kelly is the daughter of Mark and the late Karen Birchenough, and Linda Birchenough. Aside from practicing medicine, she enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her family and two beautiful daughters, June
and Virginia.

Dr. Birchenough joins Gerard Crawford MD, II, Vladimir Breslau, MD, Orakwao Dowuona, MD, Eldad Vered, MD, and Adult Nurse Practitioner, Selina Hughes. The Women’s Health Center, located in the Medical Arts Building on the main hospital campus in Lowville, is currently accepting new patients for Dr. Birchenough.
