LOWVILLE- Last Tuesday, Lowville was supposed to celebrate a night of music and family fun with the 1971 hit classic film ‘Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.’
But Mother Nature soured the night with relentless rains, forcing village officials to cancel the band and reschedule the film.
This time, Village Trustee Dan Salmon tells us there will be a movie, regardless of the weather.
For now, the forecast for Tuesday evening, August 30 does not look too promising, with more showers and thunderstorms threatening. In the event that storms do persist, the movie location will be moved from outside at Veterans Memorial Park to inside at Lowville Academy’s Auditorium.
If held indoors, which will be officially announced sometime during the afternoon Tuesday, moviegoers are asked to arrive no earlier than 7:30 p.m. No outside snacks or personal items will be permitted.
The film will begin at approximately 8:00 p.m.
If the weather holds off and the movie can be held outside at Veterans Park, show time will be approximately 8:00 p.m. right after a live music performance by Bill Burkhard, who is aimed for 6:00 p.m.
As previously reported, spectators will be treated to a special guest appearance by Peter Ostrum, who played the child role of Charlie Bucket in the original 1971 classic.
There will be chocolate bars to give away, with some that include golden tickets for special prizes.
