REPORT: Boonville Chamber Director of Communications resigns

BOONVILLE- Another development has surfaced in regards to the current situation for Boonville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Their Director of Communications, Joshua Fitzgerald, has officially announced his resignation. He published his letter on the Chamber’s Facebook page Sunday evening.

“My time and resources are precious, and I refuse to waste either on bickering and lack of accountability,” he said. “This wasn't an easy decision to make, but the current direction and mismanagement of those who lead this body has really started to take its toll on my everyday life.”

Furthermore, in his letter, Josh also revoked his chamber membership for his business, Lake Effect Tech.

Fitzgerald also went on to say his position has been riddled with scrutiny, along with lack of transparency and procedure, he explained.

His announcement was made only a short while after the chamber published the results of its latest survey, which was anonymous.

It appears that several people participated and the results do seem to suggest needed improvement for the chamber. We plan on airing these results soon.

We plan to reach out to the Chamber President for any additional comment or follow-up to this development.
