REPORT: Lewis County resident convicted for raping child is going behind bars for three-years

LOWVILLE- A Lewis County resident will be spending time behind bars for raping a child.

According to the office of District Attorney Jeffrey G. Tompkins, Matthew Lyndaker, 49, of Croghan, NY was sentenced in Lewis County Court on Monday to three-years in prison.

Authorities say that Lyndaker admitted to having sex with a child on numerous occasions, all while she was under the age of 15.

In addition, Lyndaker reportedly acknowledged that his sexual conduct against the victim began when she was less than 10.

In February, the victim was consulted before the plea deal was made and was satisfied with the results, District Attorney Tompkins’ office said.

Upon release from prison, Lyndaker will be required to register as a sex offender and will be placed under the supervision of parole for a minimum of five-years.
