BARNES CORNERS- A dozen tickets were issued by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office during the 19th annual SNIRT Run on Tug Hill over the weekend.
This update is according to the latest from WWNY-TV.
According to officials, there were 2,700 people officially registered for the ride. There were thousands of people riding ATV and UTV machines throughout the Tug Hill Region on Saturday.
Typically, the ride occurs sometime around mid-April, but due to a newly passed town law in Montague, which banned such motorized vehicle events from town roads between April 1 and May 15, officials from Barnes Corners Sno-Pals, the club responsible for heading SNIRT, decided to have this year’s ride on March 30.
This year, the Sheriff’s Office reportedly took on 10 SNIRT related complaints, while also stopping 47 machines and responding to a pair of personal injury accidents.
