UPDATE: Police confirm one fatality in Tuesday morning accident in Lee

ONEIDA COUNTY- Emergency responders say Tuesday morning’s accident in Oneida County has resulted in a fatality.

It happened shortly before 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of Skinner and Brookfield Roads, town of Lee, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Shirley A. Fox, 61 (no address provided), was driving a 2006 Chevy Malibu east on Brookfield Road.

Although the cause is still unknown, Fox somehow went off the roadway and smashed into a utility pole, causing extensive damage. Her vehicle then entered a nearby yard and struck a tree.

Although emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures, Fox was eventually pronounced deceased on scene. 

Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by Lee Center Fire Department, the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office and National Grid. The crash investigation remains ongoing.
