Rome man charged with felony rape arrested in Boonville: OCSO

ROME- A suspect from Oneida County is accused of rape.

On Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Joseph Mickle, 39, of Rome, NY with one felony count of rape in the second-degree.

Police say that Mickle was picked up by police at a residence in the town of Boonville. Rome Police Department originally received a complaint on October 4 before the case was handed over to the Child Advocacy Center.

Authorities have determined that Mickle subjected a female victim (under the age of 15) to sexual contact. The act allegedly occurred in the city of Rome, NY in September.

An order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim.

At press time, police said Mickle was processed and awaiting arraignment in CAP Court.
