ROME- City police officers have charged a local woman following what was described as a traffic stop last Friday.
Brigette A. Thien, 45, of Rome, NY was formally arrested on counts of resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration in the second-degree.
Police also cited her for an unspecified violation of New York’s Vehicle and Traffic Law.
It was just before midnight last Friday when patrols conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of West Embargo Street.
It is reported that Thien was riding a bicycle and during the stop, officers requested pedigree information, but she allegedly did not comply and tried fleeing on her bicycle.
Police said Thien actively resisted arrest before she was taken into custody without any further incident.
Thien was processed and released on an appearance ticket, authorities said at press time.
