Route 12 re-opens in wake of Southern Lewis County collision that sent numerous victims to the hospital

PORT LEYDEN- An accident involving at-least two vehicles Monday afternoon in Southern Lewis County is under investigation.

Though details remain sparse as of this report, emergency responders did say that numerous victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

The extent of how serious any injuries could have been remains unknown.

It happened sometime around 1:00 p.m. on State Route 12 in the village of Port Leyden.

A portion of the roadway was subsequently shut down for about an hour and a half while emergency responders were on-scene. It since has re-opened to regular traffic flow.
