State Police charge out of state man with intoxicated driving in Boonville

BOONVILLE- A man from out of state is accused of intoxicated driving in Northern Oneida County, according to authorities.

William E. Lyness, 69, of Chesapeake, VA was arrested late Wednesday by the New York State Police (Remsen). He is officially charged with one count each of DWI (first offense) and operating a motor vehicle (w/a .08 of 1% BAC).

According to Troopers, the arrest was made following a traffic stop in the town of Boonville at 11:15 p.m. that night.

At press time, police said an investigation is pending. Lyness was released to a third party.
