Suspect from out of state accused of felony arson charges in Lewis County, Troopers say

WEST TURIN- A resident from the New England area is faced with felony arson charges in Lewis County.

During the early hours on Thursday, the New York State Police (Lowville) arrested and charged William James Monahan, 54, of Southbury, CT with one felony count each of arson in the third-degree (intentionally causing damage) and arson in the fourth-degree (recklessly causing damage).

According to Troopers, this arrest stems from an arson investigation in the town of West Turin, though specifics have yet to surface.

At press time, police said that Monahan was held, without bail.

There were no further details provided.
