Town of Webb Police installs 8 Public Access Narcan Stations in case of overdose emergency nearby

OLD FORGE- The Town of Webb Police Department is announcing that 8 new public access Narcan stations have been installed throughout the Old Forge, NY area.

The initiative is to combat against the ongoing opioid overdose epidemic and gives a chance to bring someone back who is overdosing, officials say.

“The Narcan kits are meant for emergency use to resuscitate a person who is experiencing an opioid overdose as a result of consuming substances such as heroin, fentanyl, or prescription medication,” Chief of Police Ron Johnston said. “The kits are provided at no expense to the members of the public.”

These emergency overdose kits have been installed at the following locations:

• Enchanted Forest Water Safari
• Old Forge Camping Resort
• Old Forge Hardware Store
• Old Forge Library
• Town of Webb Court
• Town of Webb Park Ave. Building (Meeting Room)
• Town of Webb Police Department
• Town of Webb Town Offices (State Route 28)  

Each kit includes two (2) Narcan doses, with emergency use instructions.
