Troopers: Newport resident accused of operating while impaired, criminally possessing a controlled substance

HERKIMER- A resident from the Kuyahoora Valley area is accused of operating a motor vehicle while impaired, authorities say.

Andrea L. Walrath, 29, of Newport, NY was arrested Wednesday evening by the New York State Police (Herkimer). Walrath is officially charged with misdemeanor counts of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs in the first-degree and criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.

According to Troopers, these charges were all filed in the town of Herkimer. At press time, police said an investigation was pending.

Walrath was issued with an appearance ticket and there were no further details provided.
