TROOPERS: Teenage suspect charged with felony rape in Lewis County

MONTAGUE- A teenage suspect is accused of felony rape in Lewis County.

On Thursday morning, the New York State Police (Lowville) arrested and charged a 15-year-old youth, of Shortsville, NY, with one felony count of rape in the first-degree (victim under the age of 11).

State Police did not provide a name or gender for the suspect. Troopers said this arrest stems from a sex offense case, which was reported in the town of Montague on July 9.

At press time, police said the youth was released to a third-party.

There were no further details provided.
